Yes, this study exists.

A guy called Virgil Griffith in the USA correlated students’ college entrance exam scores (SAT scores) with the style/artist they listen to, based on social media posts.

The result?

It’s here in this graph, which you can open in huge size and read the artists’ names.

I want to make it clear that I’m not here to judge anyone’s musical preferences. However, exploring beyond the algorithms and recommendations of music platforms could be an enriching experience.

By discovering new artists and genres that aren’t typically pushed by streaming services, you might broaden your musical horizons and, who knows, perhaps even stimulate your cognitive abilities in the process. After all, intellectual growth often comes from stepping outside our comfort zones and embracing new experiences.

So, thankfully, Beethoven won’t be rolling in his grave anymore…
