Technics Philharmonic Orchestra

Get rid of the classical instruments and replace them with turntables.

Believe it or not, it exists!

I saw it a while ago on DJ Worx and also on Mixmag.

Imagine gathering 30 DJs who have mastered the art of scratch, like Qbert, Mr. Switch, Swamp, Kentaro, and others…

Dress them all in appropriate attire.

Next, take the first classical composition that was released on vinyl in 1948, Mendelssohn’s Concerto in E minor.

Combine it with other compositions like Vivaldi’s “Summer”, excerpts from Rossini, etc.

Switch on the turntables.

And then the fun begins.

An interesting fact is that each of the DJs brought their own Technics turntables.

It makes perfect sense.

When classical musicians perform, don’t they bring their own instruments?

Enjoy,

Billy.
