A Journey Through Sound, Spirit, and Serendipity

Today I want to share with you the story behind one of my most cherished compositions – “Distant Memory”.
What started as a simple experiment with a plugin called Serenity 2 evolved into something far more profound than I could have imagined.
The journey began with me exploring the ethereal soundscapes of Serenity 2, crafting layers of atmospheric textures that seemed to float in space.

But something was missing yet.
The true magic happened when I introduced a vocal element from Output’s Arcade plugin. The moment I heard that haunting voice soaring over the ambient landscape, I knew something special was taking shape.

The resulting piece transcends its electronic origins to create what I can only describe as a spiritual experience. The wailing vocal line weaves through the enigmatic soundscape like a prayer, creating an almost religious atmosphere that seems to touch something deep within the soul.
It’s fascinating how sometimes our most meaningful creations emerge from simple experimentation.
“Distant Memory” wasn’t planned – it revealed itself through the process of exploration and discovery, and I’m deeply grateful for how it turned out.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the piece. How does it make you feel? Does it take you somewhere specific in your mind? Music has this incredible power to transport us, and I hope “Distant Memory” can take you on a meaningful journey of your own.
Best wishes,
Billy.
